Forza Horizon 6 Goes to Japan: The Country, The Culture & The Cars
At today’s Developer_Direct, Playground Games finally lifted the curtain on Forza Horizon 6, confirming that the festival is officially heading to the stunning landscapes of Japan.
Arriving for Xbox Series X|S, PC, Steam, and Game Pass Ultimate, this new installment brings a fresh approach to the series. Here is an in-depth look at the map, the new features, and the official pricing details.

The Start: A New Beginning
In Forza Horizon 6, you don't start as a professional driver, but as a tourist with a dream. Unlike Horizon 5, where you were at the apex of your career, this game feels like a fresh start.
Design Director Torben Ellert explains, "It boils down to the fact that so many of us love that idea of going to a place that you don’t know. You have this motivation to go to Japan with the Horizon Festival, but you’re only attending as a fan."

The Map: Mountains, Tokyo & Neon Streets
The team has created a "condensed reality" of Japan, capturing the essence of its most iconic locations without being a 1:1 recreation.
- The Urban Spaces: From the neon-soaked city plazas of Tokyo to the dense downtown areas featuring Shibuya Crossing and Tokyo Tower.
- The Mountains: Breathtaking vistas and winding passes perfect for drifting.
- The Docklands: An industrial space with huge cranes, offering a contrast to the bubbly city cars zipping around.

New Features: The Journal & The Estate
Progression in FH6 is deeply tied to exploration and culture.
- The Collection Journal: Inspired by Japan’s stamp collecting history, this feature lets players build a digital collection of mementos.
- The Estate (Your Own Space): Based on the concept of Akiya (abandoned properties), you can now acquire a large piece of land and build whatever you want—from a mountain hideaway to a personalized drift track using in-game credits.
